This eye catching pendant features a colourful cabochon of vintage fordite bezel set in sterling silver and finished off with a simple (but generously sized) loop bail. The tear drop shape of the fordite is emphasised by the pattern of concentric rings in an array of bright and sometimes sparkly colours including red, blue, gold and silver. The pendant is reversible but the back is much more muted being predominately off white with silver, red and green. Measures approx 56mm (inc bail) by 29mm, comes with a silver chain in a gift box ready to give to someone who loves their old muscle cars.
Fordite is the name given to many layers of cured car paint that builds up in spray booths at car factories. The paint gets baked hard in between each layer leading to a durable material that can be cut to show off the many colours. This particular material I have matched to the colour charts for Dodge/ Plymouth in the early 1970's. I cut this material myself so if you love fordite but want something else making drop me a message, I have quite a stash of different makes/ eras. Fordite is becoming increasingly hard to source and thanks to more efficient painting processes less is being made so if you love your cars get some of the unique material whilst you can.
