Item details
Texture is really important to me, and it is the one factor that underlies everything I make. This bowl was made using the pinching method, which involves squeezing and pinching a ball of clay between the thumb and forefinger into the desired shape. It is a simple, slow and methodical process that allows the mind to wander. The exterior was then decorated with marks to create a contrasting surface to the glazed interior.
