Recently I have had a few requests to make a Great Spotted Woodpecker design to add to my common British garden bird collection. It is only this year that we have heard this loud bird flying across the end of our garden and sitting in the beautiful Copper Beech. Because of these reasons I just could not resist. I had fun researching this bird and learnt so much about him, his female counterpart and about the lesser spotted version.

A fused glass bird decoration to hang in your home.
This is a male greater spotted woodpecker, identified by the red patch on the nape of his neck and a red lower belly as well as a white wing bar.
