I started making these copper and silver things as an experiment, most of them have been circular or heart shaped so I decided to branch pit a bit and use ovals for a change. The shape doesn't lend itself so well to different ways of laying on the wire but I quite like this one.

Full description

I was never really happy with this piece, the loop and tail just look like a 9 to me, nothing wrong with it except I don't like it. A small oval pendant with a loop and tail of silver wire fused to it's surface. It resembles a number 9 as well but I thought comet tail was a better name.

The silver is fused to the copper by melting with a blow torch. After cleaning and doming slightly a gentle heat is applied to give an interesting patina to the copper. A variety of colours appear at this stage including reds, greens and purples.

The pendant measures about 3 cm long and 2 wide and hangs by a copper jump ring from an adjustable, black, leather thong.

THis little pendant is suitable for anyone, both men and women, it's quite simple in design and maybe if someone's lucky number is 9 or their birthday is on the 9th it makes a good present.
