Full description
This lovely oak whisky barrel twist pen is hand made on the Orkney Islands. Crafted in my workshop overlooking the sea, I have used this stunning piece of Oak up-cycled from a Scotch whisky barrel stave which has a soft tan colour with the dark brown grain typical of this wood. It is turned from a single piece of wood to have a wide barrel with the widest part set at the centre of the barrel, and took about 45 minutes to create. The pen sits comfortably between your thumb and fore-finger with the top-loaded twist mechanism resting on the side of your hand, and is heavy enough to feel well balanced. It is about 120mm long and 18mm wide, has a tapered tip section, a double-curved pocket clip and knurled top finial which contains the twist mechanism, all finished in 24ct gold plating. The Parker refill is easily replaced by unscrewing the tip section (take care not to loose the small spring).
