Ukrainians have been decorating eggs with colourful patterns for many years, it is believed this tradition started before the Christian era. The designs and colours used gave meaning to the eggs, making them a talisman as well as a beautiful decorative gift.
This image uses the patterns that can be found on these eggs but used on a skull, imagining someone that is so proudly Ukrainian that these patterns that are part of the Ukrainian culture are deeply ingrained and show on the person's bones.

Full description
An 8" square print of the artwork "Ukrainian to the Bone" by Kim Onyskiw. The print features a skull decorated in red and burgundy patterns which are commonly used on traditional Ukrainian eggs - pysanky, and has a grey background.
The decorative skull symbolises someone with such a deep connection to Ukraine that its cultural symbols appear on their bones, so this could make a good gift for someone with Ukrainian heritage or who has done a lot to help Ukraine, as well as those who simply enjoy gothic decor. The colourful patterns used gives similarities to a sugar skull, but in a more realistic style.
This decorative skull is a print from an original acrylic painting, and is printed on 8 inch x 8 inch square paper (approximately 20cm x 20cm), with no border, so it can fit directly in an 8" frame without a mount. The print is signed and numbered on the back.
Please note the frame in the photos is only used as an example, and is not included with the print.
If sold, 50% of the item price of this print will be donated to AUGB's Help Ukraine fund.
