Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.
* I endeavour to represent my pieces as clearly and with colours as true to life as possible, however some slight variations in tone between the image on screen and the piece itself may occur.*
The wild areas of my garden are a constant inspiration with this print a celebration of the wild beauty all around us.

Full description
My ‘Wild Beauty’ prints are inspired by the beautiful little wild areas of my garden, comprising a joyful mixture of poppies, foxgloves, forget-me-nots, redcurrants and pumpkin plants.
Final design decided, my sketches were transferred onto lino which I then hand cut and burnished in black ink onto a beautiful natural ‘Lokta’, a stunning paper handmade in Nepal. The inconsistencies from paper to paper are a big part of the beauty and charm of this handmade surface.
The printed image measures approx. 20cm x 30cm with the paper measuring 26cm x 39cm approx.
Each of this edition of 30 prints is numbered, titled and signed and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you wrapped in tissue and rolled within a cardboard tube. On its arrival, remove the print from the tube and allow it time to unfurl. (Lying the print on a flat surface under a heavy book may help to speed up the flattening process – do not be tempted to roll the print in the opposite way as this will almost certainly result in creasing and possibly damaging the print).
Please note that the listing is for the print only; the wooden hanger in the photographs is used purely for display purposes.
In addition to this version of ‘Wild Beauty’ (VE1, black on Lokta), VE2, in dark green on Lokta and VE3, dark green on Japanese Hosho are also available, each in editions of 30.
