Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.
* I endeavour to represent my pieces as clearly and with colours as true to life as possible, however some slight variations in tone between the image on screen and the piece itself may occur.*
I love the little wild areas in our garden. This small print with its simple monochrome poppies is a tiny taste of the wild beauty all around us.

Having loved cutting a lino a little larger than usual of one of the beautiful wild areas of our garden, I took a fancy to depicting some of these plants as smaller, simple stand alone prints.
I took some of the sketches made of our beautiful Welsh poppies and transferred them onto a traditional hessian backed lino which I then hand cut and burnished onto a lovely Japanese Hosho paper. The paper measures approx. 14cm x 20cm with the printed image itself at 10cm x 15cm approx.
These small poppy prints are printed in a rich black oil based ink in an edition of 50. Having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you in a cello with a back board, ready to present as is or to frame with the mount and surround of your choosing.
Fairly small in both size and price, these prints make a lovely little easy to post gift.
