This listing is for a large ornamental and beautifully craved Old London Town themed Chess Set based on the styles of the late 1800's/Early 1900's.
This collection of Chess pieces represent the authority of the time as the Royals and the humble proletariat worker as the pawns. This is a beautiful example of chess set making and social commentary combined in a wonderful practical piece of art. It really is a thing of great beauty as the photographs will show.
This chess set is a real eye catcher and is generally the talking point at any parties or family get togethers.
This wonderful collection of chess pieces are substantial and weighty and offer the player a very physical experience (apart from also looking fantastic).
The chess set is large with the king being around 18cms tall with a 4cm base. The Pawns are 8.5cms tall with just under a 4cm base giving this collection of individually handmade figurines a wonderful and intriguing presence and is an absolute joy to look at, play with and muse over.
