Full description
This stunning unique sea shell twist pen is hand crafted on Orkney, using periwinkle shells found on the beach at Windwick Bay on the east side of South Ronaldsay. The beach looks east, out towards the expanse of the North Sea and gets a fair battering in the easterly winter gales. The “top-loaded” pen has a deep-sea blue colour to the resin, allowing the light to shine around the broken seashells. The tip section has a double taper leading gently through the tapered body to the top finial. It has an antique silver finish with polished steel accents and clip, and uses a Parker refill which is replaced by unscrewing the top finial and the twist-mechanism. It is 125mm long and about 16mm at its widest and weighs 45g.
