Full description

This mini artwork is a study of shape and texture in monochrome. A base of merino wool fibres with various animal, plant and synthetic fibres and silk and cotton fabrics added to the surface has been wet felted. The additional fibres and fabrics provide both shape and texture to the piece with further detail added in the form of surface stitching using black and white threads in varying thickness.

The resulting artwork is rich in texture. The felt art measures approximately 9cm x 9cm (3.5" x 3.5") and it has been mounted on white card in a square black frame. The frame is unglazed allowing the texture of the piece to be clearly visible. The picture has been photographed in several orientations, the choice is yours!

This art work is one of a series of black and white abstract pictures available in my shop.
