Each little ceramic bird is made by hand from white clay and once fashioned it is dried out ready for biscuit firing. After cooking to 950 degrees the bird is painted with coloured underglazes and coated with a clear shiny glaze. A second firing to 1220 degrees completes the process. As each bird is handmade and handpainted they are all slightly different. I've made two of these floral birds-there are also other items in this pattern which is called 'Abundance'-see other listings for details.
