This listing is for a large ornamental and beautifully carved Monkey Band themed Chess Set. This is an incredibly rare and hard to find Chess set. A simple google search for Monkey Band themed chess set will yield few traces of it having ever existed and it is with great pleasure that I can make it available again.
This is a beautiful example of chess set making and ornamental animal themed carving combined in a wonderful practical piece of art. It really is a thing of great beauty as the photographs will show.
The chess set is large with the king being just over 16cms tall with a 4.5cm base. The Pawns are 11cms tall with just under a 4cm base giving this collection of individually handmade figurines a wonderful and intriguing presence and is an absolute joy to look at, play with and muse over.
The chess set has been cold cast in reconstructed stone and hand painted in an Antique age effected finish to enhance and compliment the beautiful sculptural chess set design.
The Chess Set comes with Felt Bases as standard.
