I named this shape Equilibrium because it can be rocked gently from side to side on its base but will always return, poised and secure, to its centre of gravity.

Full description
Ceramic Equilibrium vase in white stoneware clay with Storm blue underglaze and glaze.
This is the mini version of my Equilibrium vase shape, also known as Equilibrium No.1. Decorative in its own right, or with a few dried flowers or fresh stems from the garden. Also perfect to save those small broken or damaged buds that you sometimes get in a shop-bought bouquet.
Approximate dimensions: length 8 cm, width 3.5 cm, height 7.5 cm.
Formed from thin slabs of clay, imprinted with pattern. Once the piece is dry, it is fired first to 1000 degrees C. Separate layers of underglaze and glaze are then painted on before it is fired for the second time, to 1200 degrees C, making it strong and durable. Vases are coated inside with a clear gloss glaze. All underglazes and glazes are lead-free and non-toxic.
Made with care and attention to detail. Because everything is made and glazed by hand, each item is unique. Each vase is printed with a section of a larger pattern so the specific part of the design featured on each piece will vary.
