My grandparents lived in Coltishall village, Norfolk in a little 2 up 2 down cottage by the river, it is a pub car park now. I used to stay with them when I was a child and it was the most idyllic time of my life. My grandad would cycle around the country lanes with me on the back in a tiny seat and then later, I would peddle my own little bike. He knew everything about nature and I adored him. We saw the first bluebells and snowdrops bloom every year and scabious grew in wild abundance. I confess to picking many bunches for granny so I hope I didn't contribute to their disappearance these days!

Full description
An original painting of blue scabious in a detailed 'botancial' style featuring 8 powder blue flower heads with bobbly lemon/green centres and 3 buds on a crisp white background. I painted this botanical study in my Norfolk studio. These delicate flowers would grow wild in my local area when I was a child but now it's only the cultivated variety is that is mostly seen in gardens. I have made many sketches of them over the years so I always have an original drawing to use when needed. This painting is mounted and elegantly framed in lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The external measurements are 57cm x 47cm and the internal image is 39cm x 29cm. I have called this one 'Botanical Scabious I'. Bring flowers into your home with this painting or gift it to someone special.
