My friend Ken has the greenest of fingers so when I need really top quality flowers to draw, I head to his garden. I might get a gin and tonic too, if I'm lucky. As all my paintings start with a sketch I had to name this one after him and include his beautiful aquilegia as well. I chose a simple pale blue pottery vase for this arrangement which means it could be a unique 'Pottery Wedding anniversary gift'. It's for 9 years!. I felt there was so much going on in the composition, I left the paper white, I hope you approve.

Full description
An original watercolour painting of pink roses and aquilegia arranged in a pale blue pottery vase on a simple white background. There are 3 principal roses in full bloom displaying a riot of pink shades and 3 little buds. The dainty aquilegia are dancing at every angle and provide a lively ingredient to the classic composition. I created this painting in my Norfolk studio. It is mounted and elegantly framed in lime-washed wood and ready to hang. The overall measurements are 57cm x 47cm. The internal image is 39cm x 28cm. I hope you will enjoy the bright and lively painting on your wall or give as a unique Pottery Wedding anniversary gift. I call this one 'Ken's Roses.'
