An original watercolour corset painting in yellow and black featuring hand stitched black bead-work and ribbon with black ink detail. The net is gathered and sewn across the bodice and the ribbon laces up the the centre panel. The background is striped in light grey. The art-work is from my 'Lingerie Collection', created in my Norfolk studio. It's a glamorous, sexy look and the citrus lemon/yellow is crisp and clean against the background.The painting is double mounted and in a heavy lime-washed wood frame to prevent the net from being crushed. The painting is ready to hang. This collection of paintings has such personality I had to give them names. I have called the painting 'Sherbet Lemon I'

I wanted to create something intensley feminine in this 'Lingerie Collection'. It has given me the opportunity to combine my background in fashion and textiles with my love of painting.
I have really enjoyed adding an extra dimension by hand sewing material elements as well. However, as the paper is so thick, I have to make a hole with an ordinary needle first so that the much finer beading needle will go through. It is incredibly time consuming but I think the results are quite effective. I love the little clusters of dark, iridescent beads which form the centres of each ink flower and the ribbon lacing and net rosettes on the bodice too. A perfect corset lovers gift.
