The SS Belém was wrecked in November 1917 and much of the wreckage remains near Northcott Mouth in Cornwall. It has a sculptural quality and reminded me of some of the paintings of Paul Nash and I felt it a worthy subject to paint.

The painting is 39cm x 29cm and is supplied window mounted. The total matte size is 45.7 x 35.6cm (18 x 14in) and will fit into a standard size frame.
