My daughter brought me back an amazing handcarved wooden stamp from her travels to Nepal. I love making mugs and this stamp just wanted to be part of the design on a mug. I therefore designed this mug and chose it's colours around the stamp.

+++All my mugs are hand thrown and hand glazed and because of this can be very slightly different and therefore unique. You would receive a mug very similiar to the one in the photo.+++

Full description

A stoneware mug made by me on my potters wheel.

It's a clean lined mug with a wonderfully imprinted bee in a heart.

I threw the body on the wheel using a lovely stoneware buff clay. Stoneware clay makes for a very strong and durable mug. I then trimmed the base and pulled a handle before attaching the decoration. The stamp I used for the bee was a gift from my daughter after her travels to Nepal.

The mug was then fired to 1000C to what is called bisque ware. The base and design were waxed and I then glazed the mug by dipping it in this beautiful blue glaze. It was then refired to 1240C. That's hot!

Height 11 cm

Width across the rim 9.5 cm

I sign my pieces REJM. My parents gave me a long name and then called me by my last.
