I wanted to design and make a knitting bowl that was both practical and beautiful.
The bowl in the photo is the one that you would receive.

Yarn Bowl ...... Knitting Bowl
My wheel thrown knitting bowls have heavy bottoms so that they don't get pulled about as you knit, the slits and holes are glazed and smooth so the wool runs smoothly through them, there are additional holes that can be used for wool or to rest the knotting needles in, the rim tips inwards so that the wool doesn't tip out and hopefully they look nice too.
It's nearly 9cm tall and 16cm wide.
I used strong buff coloured stoneware clay fired once to bisque and then after glazing up to 1240C.
The bowl was thrown by me on the potters wheel and then altered and left to dry out very slowly over the next few weeks before it's bisque firing. It then had a second firing up to the stoneware temperature of 1240C after having been glazed.
