This design is named Njörd after the Norse god of sea and wind because the shape reminds me of a Viking boat in full sail. It’s pleasing when a piece names itself.

Full description
Njörd vessel in white stoneware clay with Storm blue underglaze and glaze.
Designed as a decorative object for a table or shelf. The high shine of the patterned glaze on the outside contrasts with the matt surface of the velvet underglaze inside. My maker's mark is printed on the base.
Approximate dimensions: length 10 cm, width 5 cm, height 10.5 cm.
Once the piece is dry, it is fired first to 1000 degrees C. Separate layers of underglaze and glaze are then painted on before it is fired for the second time, to 1200 degrees C, making it strong and durable. All underglazes and glazes are lead-free and non-toxic.
Made with care and attention to detail. Because everything is made and glazed by hand, each item is unique.
