Hello and welcome or better still welcome back to my little shop.

I hope you'll find that special thing here in the shop as I make everything by hand, welcoming the differences that these techniques bring.

So if its slick, shiny, bright colours you are looking for, that's really not happening here but warm, funny, happy creature lead pieces - you are in the right place. Step in and take a look around.

Bev

As I initially built these birds, I had a dialogue running through my head about what they did and who they were. It became obvious they had their own personalities, but did they have different roles?

Beety, holding an oversized cup, hangs out with Joseff. Makes sense doesn’t it?

Beety loves a story, old stories about people, animals, lost or forgotten lands and times.

Beety spends their time using this to try and understand how the world works, how we are all living here together and need to make a better attempt at this.

Full description

These seemingly retiring birds emerged during the pandemic of 2020, though they have been sighted previously in times of need. They are thought to be linked to the cleaner environment and bursts of joy we experienced during this difficult time.

Famous for their ability to bring happiness, uplifting thoughts and their wide ranging and non-discriminatory caring abilities.

Identified by – quietly flamboyant plumage, improbable glam rock wings and by provoking a general feeling of well-being in the viewer,

Edie has a big cup in their hands, probably for tea but who knows?

Handmade in small numbers, not measure or weighed, it’s important that each one has its own individual personality and quirks while remaining a member of the family.

Roughly 13cm high and 3 cm across the body

Glazed in a fantastically unpredictable glaze. The glaze accentuates the carving and individual modelling, while the carving influences the colours on the birds as the differences in glaze thickness alters the colour. Dry to touch, which adds to the look and feel of the creatures.

The bag behind each bird can be used to hold and display seed heads, flowers and other things collected on walks.

Ideal gift for anyone who loves birds, folktales and things that are slightly odd.
