Originally designed for my mum as gift for her sister, whose favourite bird is the wren. Since I started making them, I have had so many discussions with other people who are also very fond of this unique little bird. If I'm lucky, I sometimes see one hopping around in the flowerbeds when I'm making these ceramic versions.

Ceramic Wren in white stoneware clay with Mist warm/grey glaze.
Perfect as a safe place to keep jewellery and other small items, or as a decorative object in its own right. A circle of clay, with my maker's mark, is fused to the underside so that the dish sits nicely.
Approximate dimensions: length 15 cm, width 13 cm, height 5 cm.
Once the piece is dry, it is fired first to 1000 degrees C. Separate layers of glaze are then painted on before it is fired for the second time, to 1200 degrees C, making it strong and durable. All glazes are lead-free and non-toxic.
Made with care and attention to detail. Because everything is made and glazed by hand, each item is unique.
