Pausing in his flight

On limb too slight

Feels it give way beneath him,

Yet sings

Knowing he has wings.

Birds are such fun to create, hand and machine stitched as well as stained for an aged feel, this little bird's finery was from a collection of fabric sourced from vintage markets with little buttons incuding a Victorian bone button from reclaimed workshirts, with, fabric roses, little beads for eyes and a beak wittled from wood. On its head a tiny crown and in its beak a little paper rose. It stands on a mini logged embellished with fabric roses.

This piece measures: 15 x 15 cm approx
