Just prior to the first lockdown, I began painting on plywood circles. Firstly, I really like circles as a 'frame' for an image, and secondly, I always struggle with choosing frames and mounts, so thought a finished painting, wall hanging would solve that problem.
I'd also spent the previous summer looking at barge/canalware and folk painting. I enjoy trying out new techniques to create textures and shapes, and really admire the simplicity and honesty of traditional folk art and patterns.
As we were about to go into lockdown, this piece became an homage to what 'Peace' means to me, whether it be the act of creating/painting or the peace we find in the natural world and particularly in Mother Nature's Creation.

Full description
30cm diameter.
Acrylic paint on furniture grade plywood (1.2cm thickness).
Varnished & ready to hang by means of a jute hanger.
The plywood is of top quality with no splits or holes & extremely smooth.
