LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY GREETINGS TO INCLUDE.
I love making lidded jars because I am told that they get used regularly. I want to engage with people by providing them with something thoughtfully handmade that fits into their routine. I take care to make my jars with a well-fitting lid to add to the pleasure of their use. There are metallic brown abstract splashes and stamped fish and hand prints to add visual interest. The hand and fish stamps were my homage to the mystical messages left on cave walls and rocks by our prehistoric ancestors. The cotoneaster twig handle in combination with fired clay reflects my formative interests in oriental decorative arts.

A tan-green stoneware jar with a twig handle and stamped texture marks. The lid and exterior are decorated with brush-applied brown iron oxide splashes. This handbuilt box is perfect for spices, herbs, keys, shells or your small precious items. The jar was made with a UK stoneware and, after biscuit firing and glazing the piece was fired to 1300C to make it impermeable and very durable.
- The jar is food-safe and measures approximately 14cm tall and 8cm wide.
- The bottoms is impressed with my seal, the letter P, and its identity number 9742.
