The flickering candle light illuminated the blankets of dust and layers of cobwebs coating each item on the old and worn wooden shelves. They sat creakily in the corner of the dark, yet cosy room, pressed against walls uneven and rough. In the centre, a large cauldron bubbled away merrily, occasionally spitting its contents onto the ancient tiled floor. Curls of perfumed smoke hung in the air, slowly floating towards a window cracked open just far enough to catch the brisk autumn evening breeze whispering through the dancing trees, beyond the small cottage garden. A woman, old in years but spry and graceful in movement sighed and tutted as she riffled through the seemingly unorganised shelves. Her eyes glittered mischievously, when her long nimble fingers finally reach the small emerald bottle she'd been searching for. Quickly, removing the decaying cork, she poured the luminous contents into the simmering mixture and drew her wand...

Full description
A chunky wood book shaped brooch, inspired by a witch's bookshelf including potions and other oddities. All burned into the wood using pyrography - wood burning by hand, and coloured with art pencil and paint.
-The brooch is solid birch.
-The dimensions are approximately: 3.6cm x3cm
-The thickness is about 9mm (thickest part)
-It has a 2cm brooch back glued to the reverse.
-Comes in a box and bag, with care instructions.

All my creations are my own design and composition. Each piece is unique. Please note, wood is a natural material and each piece has it's own knots and imperfections that make it beautiful. I seal the wood with varnish to help protect it, but it will weather overtime.
To care for your piece; keep out of direct sunlight in a box or roll when not in use and avoid spraying with perfume.
Postage is FREE. I post once a week, using my local post office. Please keep this in mind when ordering. Postage within the UK only.
