Full description

I chose a zingy colour palette of opaque glasses to make this large, shallow decorative platter, which certainly catches the eye and would brighten up a dark corner. The streaky blue and lime glass is a particular favourite of mine, and brings the whole piece together. Each piece has been hand cut from a sheet of opaque glass and carefully fitted together, then topped with a piece of clear glass before being fused together in my kiln.

A second firing then takes place over a ceramic mould to give the final shape.

The platter measures 34cm across and stand 2.5cm high. While it is a very useful size for a fruit platter, it would make a statement decorative piece, either on a table, or hung on the wall.
