This is my interpretation of a traditional mug used in the ancient west country wassailing tradition performed in orchards after the harvest, to ward away evil spirits and encourage a good harvest the following year. Mulled cider is passed (and drunk) from hand to hand, hence the need for three handles. The leaping hare handle took me a year to get right, so it sits comfortably in your hand.
