I love being able to go out and see wildlife in it's natural habitat. I love to come home with a sketchbook, camera and head full of ideas! I use my Granny's old Bernina sewing machine as my drawing tool along with bits of applique to capture the spirit as well as the image of the wildlife I observe.

I love watching wagtails and we have lots of pied wagtails near us, they are in constant motion always bobbing and, as the name suggests, wagging their tails.
In my work I want to capture some of the character as well as the look of the birds and animals I portray. For this piece I've used lovely black and white linens and a soft grey denim for the body and embroidery thread for the details. I use my sewing machine as a drawing tool, using stitch to define my pieces and capture the spirit of the birds and animals I create.
This unique embroidered piece comes mounted in an acid free white card mount with backing, ready to frame. The mounted artwork will arrive with you in a cellophane wrapper and will be posted out in a padded envelope to protect it. The mount measures about 31 x 26 cm and the picture aperture measures 17 cm x 22 cm.
