Full description
Very cute blue tit hanging, made from recycled glass with added colour and wire.
Designed and handmade at my home studio in Cheshire, England.
I start each design by drawing from nature before cutting the glass.
My birds are made from 2 layers of thin glass. To this I add ground coloured glass and wire. Finally the surface is over-glazed and fired in a kiln.
This is the second in my series of hanging blue tits, I can't resist making more as their movements are so endearing in the silver birch outside my studio.
The small naturalistic bird is very delicate looking and hangs from a fluorocarbon line which has a matching bead at the end, ready to hang at a window or even outdoors in a sheltered position.
The bird measures 12 x 15 cm of which 9 cm is the thread.
He would make a great gift for any bird lover.
