Item details

On a cold grey day in February I was wondering around a rather quiet and empty nature reserve when I spotted a bright little character watching me. Against the dying foliage he looked especially bright and cheerful and I decided I wanted to try and capture a bit of that in this piece.

Full description

Who doesn't love a robin? With their chirpy song, inquisitive nature and gorgeous red breast it's no wonder they're one of our national favourites. I love to watch them in my garden, inspecting everything and ensuring standards are maintained. This Robin spotted me at a nearby nature reserve on a cold and grey day. I've added some sheer organza applique layers which add just a hint of sparkle if you look closely, just as all that moisture on a wet winter day sparkles. My Robin is worked on natural coloured linen with machine embroidery threads using my trusty old Bernina sewing machine as my drawing tool.

This unique embroidered piece comes mounted in an acid free white card mount with backing, ready to frame. The mounted artwork will arrive with you in a cellophane wrapper and will be posted out in a padded envelope to protect it. The mount measures 40.5 x 30.5 cm and the picture aperture measures 29 cm x 21 cm. These are standard sizes to make it easier to frame!
