Although we live in a residential area, our house looks out on to a little row of trees where the birds often play and roost. We have a couple of magpies that live nearby and they often fascinate us. We're constantly looking for inspiration in the nature around us and these two were always nearby, making a racket.
So we took some photographs of them and created this picture, and it's gone on to become one of our favourites.

Full description
Two For Joy is a framed paper cut picture of two Magpies roosting in a tree at the end of the day. The picture was designed from several original photographs we took of the Magpies who live near our house.
The Magpie is such a fantastic bird to design with. They are so iconic, almost regal, and carry an air of mischievousness. The birds who live near us really rule the roost, and boss all the other birds around. We wanted to create a picture that captured their nature and this is the result.
Cut into a single piece of 300gsm Canford Card, the picture is mounted in a deep box frame. Behind the paper cut is a spacer and white backing board. This allows the picture to catch a light and create a magnificent shadow in the back of the frame, bringing the picture to life.
All our pieces are created to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and are posted out in eco-boxes using recycled paper, paper bubble wrap and biodegradable tape. All prices include free postage.
