Thank you for looking...
Hares are intriguing creatures and although I've rarely glimpsed a wild one recently, they continue to be a recurring theme in my work. I'm always trying to capture that elusive, mysterious quality that draws so many of us to them.

Hand embroidered picture of a Hare.
The image was stitched by hand with strands of embroidery thread using a blend of different size stitches to build up detail and depth. The whiskers are stitched with gold thread, and there's a gleam in his amber eye.
Rarely seen, our native Hares have a lot of folklore and mystery surrounding them. They are certainly secretive, that's for sure...
I've photographed the picture in natural light without the glass for clarity, then it is protected in an oak frame with the glass in place. The stitched piece is just over 4x4cms and the frame measures 14.5x14.5cms, and is ready to hang or display.
An ideal gift for a nature-watcher, or someone who admires Hares.
