I have found this beautiful piece of granite stone from along Bede's Way and have made it into a Anglo Saxon Stone Spiral Pendant Necklace using the finest pure 999.9 Fine Silver. Granite stone is igneous rock that is rich in natural quartz crystals and feldspar and is from the earth's crust. This stone was formed over 300 million year's ago and (probably) would have been within the stone strata in Bede's day. It is smooth to the touch and is a lovely shape.
The stone pendant features 4 hand wire worked sculpted fine silver spirals that are beautifully inter linked with one another. I have gently hammered them for organic texture and lovingly hand set. The stone pendant has then been carefully hand glazed.
The spiral design is a feature of many Anglo-Saxon artworks, in manuscripts, metalwork, stone crosses.
The pendant comes presented with a sterling silver chain necklace within a high quality velvet flocked gift box and a Bede's Way Jewellery Card, and is gift ready.
