I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I wanted to create a piece that had a more traditional form with gentle curves. I hope that I have achieved my aim.

Full description
This generously sized bowl has been turned in cherry and has a what I feel is a classical shape. Although there was a small flaw in the wood I don’t think that it detracts from the overall finish. Cherry gives a lovely warm honey-like glow. The finish is a durable dulled lacquer and waxed to give a warm sheen.
