This intricate pendant is made from tarnish resistant copper wire. At the centre is a lapis lazuli gem stone.
Lapis lazuli is a semi precious stone that has been used in jewellery from ancient times. Copper was one of the base metals used in antiquity; when precious stones were often paired with base metals.
To create the pendant a number of base wires are used to make the frame; on which hundreds of thinner wire wrapps are build up to form a 3D design. The handmade nature of the wire wrapping technique uses no soldering to keep the piece together. It is through the hardened wire wrapping and twisting of the material that the piece comes together.
The finished pendant is not only a piece of jewellery to wear; it is also a wearable art piece.It is like a painting; drawing in the viewer's attention. Each piece is unique; and can not be reproduced en mass.

This can also be the perfect gift as the 7 year wedding anniversary, when it is traditional to gift something made of copper.
