Full description

This workshop will introduce you to the Singleton, Grindles (or sea urchin style) and Dorset Knob buttons.

The Singletons are quite simple and you may have made these before. They are essentially a fabric covered ring.

The Dorset Knob buttons, after which the hard round biscuits are named, are another fabric formed button. The similar Grindle is a lovely button to make, again worked on a fabric form.

All the materials you require to work these buttons will be provided.

If you can, please bring with you a selection of sewing needles (blunt and pointed) and a pair of small, sharp scissors, but don’t worry if you can’t as these will be available.

Some previous experience of Dorset Button making is required for this workshop.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 5th February 2020 from 14.00 to 16.30 at the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts, Middle Farm Way, Poundbury, Dorchester DT1 3AR.

All materials and refreshments included in cost.
