View of the picturesque Twr Mawr Lighthouse, on Ynys Llanddwyn on Anglesea, Wales, across the Menai Strait to the distant mountains of Snowdonia.
First I wet felted the background using Merino Wool Tops with a touch of Angelina Fibre in the sea to catch the light. As you move past this picture the Angelina dleicately reflects the light giving the impression of moving water. The Snowdon Mountain Range was needle felted and then the island of Llandwwyn along with Twr Mawr Lighthouse using carded Corriedale. Finally I embroidered my artist mark and mounted it in a light grey, wood effect frame with a white mount.
The picture frame is A4 size and the mounted picture is A5.

Inspired by the windy walk we took during our holiday in Wales. A lovely day spent wading across the flooded causeway and on across the tops of the island to the lighthouse past the church ruins, monuments and pilots cottages to the lighthouse. Small hidden coves appearing with dramatically dark, tide marked, ragged rocks. Colourful flowers and spiky blue thistles grow on the craggy rocks along the crushed white shell paths. A truly beautiful day, quite breathtaking. We shall definitely visit again very soon.
