Full description
This little hoop shows a moonlit scene of a traditional Scottish croft house and single winter tree nestled in the snowy landscape. The moon is a combination of a white sequin and an iridescent flat round sequin. The stars are tiny french knots dotted across the night sky. The frozen winter tree is hand-embroidered in straight stitch and split stitch.
The scene is framed in a 3" (7.5 cm) diameter wooden embroidery hoop, which I have painted white.
The back of the hoop is neatly finished with a circle of white felt, signed by me. A hanging loop of white waxed cotton is attached to the top of the embroidery hoop.
These little winter scenes make lovely gifts for friends and relatives living in warmer climes who might be missing the romance of a crisp, snowy winter. They are compact and light, making them easy to post.
Please note that tiny variations in the stitching occur each time I make the design into a finished piece, so the the item you receive may vary slightly from the one shown in the photographs.
The hoop art will be sent to you, via Royal Mail First Class post, in a white presentation box lined with grey felt to match the embroidered scene.
