The inside of the bowl is decorated with a hand painted koi carp with swirling undulating water patterns.
On the outside is a bright yellow glaze, with another koi carp.
The Koi is a symbol of strength and steadfastness in the face of adversity. The imagery of koi swimming upriver is often used to symbolize the overcoming of obstacles and ultimate victory in the face of adversity.
