The nuthatches that visit us are always a welcome sight - striking with their black stripe through the eye. And usually head-first down the tree trunk!

Full description
A little companion for a desk, shelf or windowsill.
This little nuthatch is made from felt which I've embellished by hand with embroidery and beads. The eyes are sequins and the bill is ribbon stiffened with nail varnish. The felt is made from 100% polyester from post consumer plastic bottles. It stands just over 6cms tall and is about 7cms to the end of the tail, plus the bill of about 12mm, it's filled with off-cuts of material and weighted with some 1p coins for stability.
Though not a toy, this nuthatch would make an ideal decorative gift for a gardener, bird watcher or just someone who loves pretty things!
