Welcome to Sylvie's Sewing Room!
My textile pictures and brooches are all hand stitched using a free-style combination of stitches that I call "drawing with threads".
I hope you enjoy looking...
A colourful little felt bird that will keep you company at your desk, or keep watch on a shelf or on the windowsill.
This decorative ornament is made from 100% polyester felt which is recycled from post consumer plastic bottles. It makes a strong and fade resistant material which I've embellished with hand stitched embroidery, using beads for detail and sequins for the eyes. The bill is ribbon stiffened with clear nail varnish. The Robin is filled with thread and material off-cuts, and weighted with some 1p coins to give it some stability.
The Robin stands just over 6cms tall and is about 7.5 cms to the tip of the tail.
It's not a toy, but is a fun and decorative gift ideal for a bird-watcher, a gardener or just someone who loves pretty things.
The Nation's Favourite!
We love the cheeky little Robin who watches us in the garden, always checking what we're doing and coming down for a closer inspection.
So this little decorative robin is a little reminder of our garden companion.
