Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
A pretty poppy design decorates this hand-stitched and felted bookmark.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles) to produce the background for the 'harvest' design. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. The bookmark is edged in blanket stitch using threads to match the areas of the design. Simple embroidery stitches have been used to embroider the poppies.
The bookmark is backed with a second layer of 'eco' felt. Ribbon tails complete the design.
Length of felted panel - 13 cm approx
Total length - 18 cm approx
Please note: items from Lynwoodcrafts are intended for adults. This item is unsuitable for children under 3 years of age since it contains small parts which may represent a choking hazard.
Lynwoodcrafts' embroidered and felted designs have proved very popular. The design has been used to decorate a number of items. Each individually hand-stitched harvest design is unique in composition.
