Full description
This bookmark was created as an experiment in using up yarn trimmings - I am trying to get as close as possible to 'zero waste' in my craft work. Whilst very pretty it was very time consuming to make and is unlikely to be repeated.
A bookmark composed of lengths of yarn, felted to an eco felt background, and stitched to resemble woven cloth, trimmed by a tail of coordinating ribbons.
Yarn snippets were hand felted to an 'eco' felt (commercially produced from recycled bottles) background - blue yarn alternating with the other colours featured in the blanket. Rows of small running stitches in cotton threads were then worked down the bookmark, Backstitching, in a fine blue thread, has securely anchored the 'weft threads' down each long edge of the bookmark. The bookmark is backed with felt. Ribbon tails complete the design.
I have done my best to photogrpah this item accurately but monitor settings may cause variation in colour.
Length of embroidered panel - 14 cm approx.
Total length - 20.5 cm approx.
