In these difficult times, I continue to work from home. I am only selling items which can be posted via the Post Box which is just outside my gate. I have a stock of stamps and packaging materials and, therefore, can stay open for business without imposing extra risk on other individuals. As usual, vintage linens and fabrics, re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories, may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
Red roses, felted and hand stitched, surrounded by clouds of gypsophila, decorate this hair clip or barrette.
Simple embroidery stitches, using cotton threads and wool, were used to create a posy of red roses and white gypsophila on a navy felt background. The embroidered panel was stiffened by a layer of interfacing and blanket stitched to a second layer of navy felt. A hair clip finding is securely stitched to the backing panel. Please note: the colours have been challenging for my camera - the background is navy and lighter than it appears in image 1 - Image 2 gives a more accurate representation of the felt background.
Barrette finding - opening approx. 5.5 cm
Please note that this item is intended for adults. It is unsuitable for children under the age of 36 months as it contains small parts which may represent a choking hazard.
I love to stitch rose posies. I needed a hair clip for a recent occasion and, liking the resulting one which I made for myself, I decided to make some for my shop.
