All jewellery listed here that says silver is sterling silver, I do not use silver plate at all. There will be elements of sterling silver in every design (except keyrings), some will be completely so, others may have combinations of copper, brass, bronze, glass, enamel, pewter, resin, upcycled biscuit tins and pre-decimal coins and/or semi-precious stones as well. Many of the designs are one-of-a-kind.
I make lots of different animals, in sterling silver, copper, brass and pewter, whichever metal works the best for the particular animal. The sheep was one of the first I made, after the cat and the elephant, as I liked the shape and the fact that they can show a certain humour. As time has gone on, the designs have become progressively more difficult, like the pig, the owl and the possum! But I still love to make them, each time trying to make tham as different from the last set as I can: sheep are my most popular design, particularly the brooch version and particularly at wool fairs. The earrings, like these on display here, are also popular.

Sheep earrings. Hand cut sterling silver fleece with a textured effect, domed slightly in a concave shape. Approximately 16mm across. Copper face. Sterling silver ear wires.
