Hello and welcome! This page is home to Beaded Beasties: mixed media box frames of dragonflies and other creatures in a mini environment. Each one unique, made from new and recycled materials. I hope you love what you see.

Once started with my dragonfly obsession, I love seeing what bead combinations I can create. Some of my dragonflies have acetate wings but the monochrome palette of these seemed more suited to using recycled card.

Full description
These Beaded Beasties form a dragonfly duo. The monochrome assemblage has two large dragonflies manoeuvring in the evening light.
These dragonflies are made from predominantly recycled acrylic and metal beads with a few new, small black crackle ones. This time, the wings are cut from recycled greetings cards. I choose the cards carefully for designs that give a suggestion of wing markings. The large chain links represent the dragonflies' slipstreams and are carried across the white mountboard to the edge of the frame. It is all mounted on a printed watercolour-effect paper in shades of blue and purple.
This large black box frame is 32.5cm (12 3/4 ins) square and 4.5cm deep with a hanging hook on the back. As always, this is a unique creation.
