I'm not one who likes to throw anything away and often up cycle things.
I thought this wool mix herringbone fabric, that originally started it's life as a skirt, would make a stunning bag so here you are, this is the end result!!

Full description
The Black and White Herringbone, wool mix fabric I have used for this bag originally started life as a skirt!! Up cycling at its best! I have sewn it in a patchwork effect, alternating it along with Black Leatherette.
Based on my 'Boathouse Bag' design, this is truly a 'one off' bag.
The flap has Black leatherette on the underside and secures by a silver coloured magnetic snap on the front
The strap is of the same Herringbone fabric and Leatherette with silver hardware. It is short enough to carry the bag by hand but equally long enough to wear comfortably on your shoulder.
For the lining I have used a very brightly coloured cotton which gives a nice surprise when opening the bag. There is a generous zipped pocket inside for valuables and has a 'Hare' charm on the zipper pull.
The size is approx - 29cm wide (widest point) x 30cm high x 5cm base
( 11.5" x 12" x 2")
It is fully interfaced and stabilised for sturdiness and as all of my items, has been sewn on my industrial sewing machine using very strong thread for strength.
All of my bags will be wrapped in tissue and placed in a lidded box. Perfect to keep them safe in storage in the times it may not be used, if there ever would be a time!!!!
