Inspired by the Ukrainian tradition of pysanky - decorating eggs, with the idea of what it would be like if these eggs weren't decorated by people, but were laid by birds who are just as beautifully patterned. Each colourful egg hatches into a chick that shares the same patterns as the egg, and then grows into a beautiful bird that lays more eggs sharing its patterns.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Full description
An original canvas painting of a colourful pysanka egg decorated with blue and gold patterns. The egg is starting to hatch, as the beak of a baby bird is just starting to crack the beautiful egg. The egg is decorated with patterns of wheat, suns and stars (the Ukrainian flag is said to be blue skies over yellow wheat fields) and sunflowers - another common symbol of Ukraine. The egg is painted against a pale yellow background.
This Ukraine inspired original art is painted in acrylics on a 25cm x 25cm and 3.5cm deep canvas (9.8" x 9.8" and 1.4" deep). The gold is painted in metallic enamel paint which catches the light. The background colour carries on over the edges so there is no need for framing, and a string is attached to the back so it is ready to hang.
The hatching pysanka painting will be packaged securely in bubblewrap and cardboard for posting and will be sent tracked and signed.
If sold, 25% of the item price of this painting will be donated to AUGB's Help Ukraine fund.
